Pinterest is a vertical medium, and its recommendation has been consistent: a 2:3 pin.

Why 2:3
The masonry feed gives taller pins more room, up to a point. Beyond 2:3 the pin is truncated in the feed, so the extra height is wasted and any design at the bottom is hidden.
Resolution
1000 × 1500 is a good working size: sharp on high-density screens without producing an unnecessarily heavy file.
