Facebook renders images differently across surfaces. These sizes are the ones that survive the most placements intact.

Feed posts
1200 × 630 is a safe landscape size and matches the standard link-preview ratio, so the same asset can serve both.
Cover photos
Upload at 1640 × 856. Desktop shows the full width; mobile crops in from the sides. Keep logos, faces and text well inside the centre.
